This proof set includes both the 1986 silver dollar and nickel dollar.

The silver dollar marks the 100th anniversary of the inauguration of the Transcontinental Railroad and the centenary of the City of Vancouver.  The reverse depicts engine no. 371 and the first transcontinental passenger train with the city of Vancouver in the background.  

The nickel dollar bears the popular design of the Indian and Voyageur in a canoe which appears on the first Canadian silver dollar issued in 1935.
