The reverse design by Canadian artist Jesse Koreck features an underwater scene that includes a number of the marine species found in the waters of Canada's West Coast. When viewed under black light, the scene fades to darkness as the bioluminescence of several of the species is revealed.
The obverse features the effigy of Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
