Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sporting one of her famous hats and her renowned maple leaf diamond brooch, smiles broadly on the reverse side of this silver coin. The markings "Canada 1952 - 2012" commemorates Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty that first appeared on Canadian coins in 1953, the year following her coronation. This effigy appeared on Canadian coins from 1953 to 1964.
