This story was written when Elwood Fawcett was 12 years old.
As a boy, Elwood spent much of his free time with his dog, in the woods surrounding Meaford, Ontario, where he was raised.
He acted out many of his imaginary adventures. While he wrote out his stories on scraps of paper, most were used to ight the family wood stove.
However, this story was saved and travelled with Elwood to a number of locations over 50 years. A friend of Elwood's suggested that he publish this story and I am glad he did. I read the story and enjoyed it.
